This Privacy Policy explains what CrewChiefSteve Technologies, Inc. collects through the CrewChiefSteve mobile app, the CrewChiefSteve Portal, CCST Data, and this website, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and how to delete it.
What This Policy Covers
The service is operated by CrewChiefSteve Technologies, Inc., Mooresville, NC. We decide how the information described here is used.
Account Information
You sign in through Clerk, our authentication provider, using Google, Apple, or an email address and password. For your account we collect your name, email address, the profile photo your sign-in provider shares, and an account ID. We do not see or store your Google or Apple password. If you use email and password, Clerk stores and checks the password; we do not.
Racing Records You Add
The service stores the records you and your team put into it so they are there at the next event:
- Vehicles, vehicle specifications, and setups
- Events and race schedules
- Planned and completed sessions
- Tire pressure, tire temperature, and brake logs
- Notes
- Uploaded files and photos, such as race schedule photos and PDFs and knowledge-base documents
- Session telemetry and session videos
We use these records to run the service for you: showing them back to you, analyzing sessions, predicting tire pressures, importing schedules, and answering your questions in the AI Crew Chief chat.
Camera, Photos, and Location
The app asks for the camera or photo library only when you choose to photograph or pick a race schedule to import. The photo you take or pick is uploaded so the schedule can be read. The app does not otherwise access your camera or photos.
The app does not use your device location. Weather for a session comes from the coordinates of the track venue, not from your phone.
Service Providers
We use the service providers below to run the service. They process data on our behalf, only to provide their part of the service, and not for their own advertising.
- Clerk: sign-in and account authentication
- Convex: database and backend hosting, in the United States
- Amazon Web Services Bedrock, running Anthropic Claude models: reads the race schedule images and PDFs you upload to extract the schedule
- Anthropic: the AI Crew Chief chat in the Portal
- OpenAI: text embeddings that make knowledge-base search work
- Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence: reads the knowledge-base documents you upload
- OpenWeather: weather for track locations
- Cloudflare R2 and Mux: session video storage and playback
- Vercel: web hosting
We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect the company, our users, or the integrity of the service.
No Ads, No Tracking, No Sale
The service has no ads. The mobile app contains no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs and no analytics SDK. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
This Website
This website can be viewed without an account. If you email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write. If you use the Follow form, we receive the email address you enter; it is delivered to us by email through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service. Our web host processes standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to records is limited to the account that owns them. We use practical administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for an early-stage company. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
How Long We Keep Data
We keep your account and records while your account is active. When you delete your account, they are deleted as described below. Copies in our providers' routine backups expire on those providers' own schedules.
Deleting Your Account
Shared track map data you uploaded is kept so other users can still use it, but it is no longer linked to you. We keep a minimal record, with no personal information, that shows the deletion happened.
Your Records
Vehicle, event, session, setup, and related records belong to the team or account that provides them, subject to any applicable service terms or written agreements. You can view, edit, and delete your records in the service at any time. For a copy of your data or a correction you cannot make yourself, email us.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date.
